After Apple, Samsung too may not give buyers power adapter with next flagship

Must read

When Apple took the decision of not including a charging adapter with its iPhones, Samsung was one of the first ones to mock the iPhone-maker. However, it now appears that the South Korean tech giant is set to join its arch-rival on this particular matter.
According to a report by Brazilian website Tecnoblog, the upcoming flagship models from Samsung — Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra — have been certified by ANATEL in Brazil sporting model numbers SM-G991B/DS, SM-G996B/DS, and SM-G998B/DS, respectively. None of the said handsets are going to include a power adapter in the box, claims the report.
To recall, after Apple announced its decision to not only skip power adapters for the new iPhone 12 series, but also for its previous models as well, Samsung posted on Facebook an image of a Galaxy charger with a simple message, “included with your Galaxy”. The post read, “Your #Galaxy does give you what you are looking for. From the most basic as a charger, to the best camera, battery, performance, memory and even 120Hz screen on a smartphone.”
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Samsung will be doing the same thing, it has mocked Apple for first.
When Apple launched the iPhone 7, it ditched the headphone jack and a similar furore was created like the non-inclusion of charger has. Samsung was quick to mock Apple in a series of ads about having headphone jack in its phones. It also made fun of a dongle which the iPhone required to plug in a headphone jack. However, the company soon ditched the headphone jack from its phones and even introduced a dongle. What it also did was completely remove the ads making fun of Apple from its social media channels.
