As per the report, the beta version contains codes for the new iMacs which are “iMac21,1” and “iMac21,2”. The models have the same codename–J456 and J457– as the ones reported earlier this year by Bloomberg, claims the report. Over the years, Apple has not fiddled around with the design of the iMac too much but rumours suggest that the models will have a design similar to the Pro Display XDR. The 21.5-inch iMac with Retina 4K display bears a dimension of 17.7 inches x 20.8 inches x 6.9 inches and weighs about 5.48 kg. The 27-inch version has a dimension of 20.3 inches x 25.6 inches x 8 inches and weighs about 9kg.
The 27-inch iMac features a 5K Retina display with True Tone technology with a brightness of 500nits. It also comes with a nano-texture glass option to minimise glare. The 21.5-inch iMac, on the other hand, comes with up to 4K display.
In other news, Apple recently filed a patent for a notebook computer with a retractable keyboard with USPTO. The notebook computer mentioned in the patent is believed to be a MacBook with a new, thinner design, courtesy of the retractable keyboard that will help reduce the thickness of the chassis. In the patent, it is said that the retractable keyboard system will be held in place with the help of a ferromagnetic material attached to it. The ferromagnetic material could then be charged with the help of a selectively magnetising magnet.
