Dropbox: Dropbox to add a new free feature to Basic accounts – Latest News

Must read

Storage and file sharing app Dropbox is set to add a new ‘Dropbox Passwords’ feature to the Basic accounts in April, as per a report by The Verge. The password management feature was first introduced in 2020, but only for paying customers. Now, Dropbox Passwords has come to the Basic users, with a 50-passwords limit.

With the password saving feature, Basic users will now be able to sync their passwords across three devices. The move is likely to interest more users into getting accustomed to the utility, considering the 50-passwords limit. The company does have better plans with Dropbox Passwords, with increased password storage.

Right now, tech giants like Google, Apple and Microsoft charge for their cloud storage once someone’s storage exceeds the basic cloud storage plan of the respective company. You have the option not to upload more data and even truncate the data already stored, but cloud does make file sharing easier. The addition of a free password manager may not look something like a need for the user, but you never know. Cloud is here, the rate at which the online passwords are proliferating is usually inversely proportional to the memory of the majority when it comes to recalling the passwords and the latest marketing move by Dropbox may make consumers more dependent upon its utilities.
