What causes a lunar eclipse?
A lunar eclipse or Chandra Grahan occurs when the moon and the Sun position themselves on the exact opposite sides of the Earth. This positioning results in a complete blockage of sunlight on the moon. Basically. A lunar eclipse takes place when the Moon moves into the Earth’s shadow.
Moreover, this lunar eclipse is also expected to cause the ‘Blood Moon’ phenomena that creates a unique appearance of the moon as a reddish tint is visible on the surface. This lunar eclipse on May 16 will be the first one of the year and another one is expected to take place on November 8.
