Google brings scheduling feature to Messages for some users

Must read

Google has reportedly started rolling out a new feature to its Messages app that will allow users to schedule messages.
According to Twitter user @besaireddy, Google has enabled the support for scheduling messages on its app. The user has provided screenshots to show how the feature works.
As per his tweets, if a user taps and holds on the send button, then an option of “schedule message” pops up. Here users will get to choose from three pre-set time slots — 6 pm, 9 pm and 8 am. Alternatively, they may set a completely custom date and time of their choice. After this, users need to to tap on ‘save’ to schedule the message.

Once the message is scheduled, it will appear on the sender’s chat with a clock icon in front of it and “Scheduled message” written underneath it. After a message is scheduled, there are three options related to it that are available to the sender.
Tapping on the scheduled message will open a pop-up box that will first show the scheduled date and time of the message, followed by ‘Update message’, ‘Send now’ and ‘Delete message.’
A report by XDA-Developers has corroborated the scheduled messages feature to be available in the latest Google Messages APK, even though it “isn’t widely available at the moment.” Therefore, Google is soon expected to announce and roll out the message scheduling feature soon.
