Live caption: How to get Live Captions of any video on Google Chrome

Must read

Have you ever found yourself struggling to understand the accent while watching something online or you feel that the audio is not loud or clear enough? Then Google Chrome’s Live Captions feature is just what you may need. Launched recently, it transcribes any audio playing in real-time on the web.

Here are the steps you need to follow to turn it on:

Open Google Chrome on your desktop or PC

Click on the three dot icon on the right side of the screen

Open Settings

Click on Advanced section on the left side

From this section, open Accessibility section<br>

Chrome browsers running on version Chrome 89 or above come with support for Live Captions. These captions appear in a pop-up window, which can be moved around at the bottom of a video, and can be extended. Users will be able to use it for all kinds of videos they view on Chrome including those on Twitter, YouTube and any web page. As of now, the Live Caption feature works for English only, but support for more languages is likely to be rolled out soon.
