OnePlus has shelved OnePlus Nord SE: Report – Latest News

Must read

If you have been waiting for OnePlus Nord SE after all those reports of it launching early this year, then here’s some ‘disappointing news’. Recent reports claim that OnePlus has permanently shelved OnePlus Nord SE.

According to leakster Max Jambor, “As several of my sources now report, this Special Edition will NOT be presented to the public.” He says that so far he is unsure of the reason behind the company’s decision. “The only thing that is certain at this point is that the planned Special Edition of the original Nord will not be released,” Jambor adds further.

There were reports in December 2020 that OnePlus is set to a new mid-range smartphone in cooperation with the artist Joshua Vides. This was supposed to be special edition of OnePlus Nord. However, while OnePlus Nord SE may not be launching, the successor of OnePlus Nord is surely on the way, though still a few months away.

OnePlus launched its first mid-range smartphone OnePlus Nord in July last year. The smartphone launched at Rs 24,999 and is the company’s first affordable smartphone. OnePlus recently resumed rollout of Android 11 update to the device. The company had pulled back the update after users reported issues with the update. The update comes with firmware version 11.1.1.1 and its changelog is quite similar to that of Android 11 update.

Here are the key changes as per the changelog:

* Optimizes stability of some third-party apps

* Optimizes power consumption to increase battery life

* Ambient Display: Newly added Insight clock style, a joint creation with Parsons School of Design. It will change according to the phone usage data. Another addition is Canvas always-on display, which can extract a subject’s outline from any photo and display it on your lock screen.

Dark Mode: Adds shortcut key for Dark Mode.

New shelf UI: Wweather widget gets new animation effect

Gallery: Newly added the Story feature can automatically create the weekly stories by using your local photos and videos.
