A recent job posting for “Corporate Development Division Manager” on LinkedIn especially for the Indian market hints at the same. Interestingly, the job was posted on LinkedIn by PUBG Corporation on behalf of Krafton on October 20 and not Tencent Games. After the ban in India, PUBG Corporation said in September that it is “hoping to work hand-in-hand with the Indian government to find a solution”.
“PUBG Corporation will take on all publishing responsibilities within india. As the company explores ways to provide its own PUBG experience for India in the near future, it is committed to doing so by sustaining a localized and healthy gameplay environment for its fans.”
Talking about the job posting on Linkedin, PUBG Corporation is looking for somebody who can “jointly develop overall M&A and investment strategy for the gaming and related sectors (tech, media, entertainment, and etc.) mainly with the India market context.”
Interestingly, the company hints about setting up its own operations. In the work location area, PUBG Corporation has mentioned: “working from home in India or the city where PUBG India will be set up.” Also, the role will require the person to support the setup process of PUBG India with guidance from HQ, i.e. Krafton Inc.
The job posting hints not only at a comeback but the fact that PUBG Corporation is seriously looking at merger, investments and strategic partnership opportunities. The role also states that the person will have to “develop and monitor a pipeline of potential M&A, investment and strategic partnership opportunities in the gaming and related sectors in India.”
