Redmi Note 9 Pro Android 11 Update: Redmi Note 9 Pro starts receiving Android 11 update in India

NEW DELHI: Smartphone maker Xiaomi has started rolling out an Android 11 update for its budget smartphone — Redmi Note 9 Pro in India. The company took to Twitter to announce the availability of Android 11 on the smartphone. Xiaomi India MD Manu Kumar Jain tweeted, “It’s raining #Android11. Smiling face with heart-shaped eyes @Android 11 is now also available on #RedmiNote9Pro! Coming soon to more Mi / Redmi devices. Excited to explore the amazing features of #AndroidR? RT if you are as excited as I am.”

The update weighs 2.3GB in size and comes with firmware version MIUI V12.0.1.0.RJWINXM. The update will bring features like default screen recorder, better media controller, native smart home control, one-time permission to apps, security fixes via Google Play and others.
For those unaware, Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 9 Pro in India in March this year at a starting price tag of Rs 12,999. The smartphone comes with a 6.67-inch full HD+ display with 1080×2400 pixel resolution.The display is protected with a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. The handset is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor paired with 6GB/4GB of RAM.
The smartphone offers 64GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 256GB by adding a microSD card. The dual SIM smartphone sports a quad-rear camera setup with 48MP main sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 8MP ultra wide angle lens, 5MP macro lens and 2MP depth sensor. The handset also comes with a 16MP front camera for selfies.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro comes equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and is backed by a 5,020 mAh battery with 18E fast charging support.
