Xiaomi has confirmed that the company will launch its first smart
TV under the Redmi brand in India. The company has confirmed that it will launch the smart TV on March 17 in the country.
Xiaomi took to Twitter to make this announcement. Redmi India tweeted, “Bigger, better? Nah, we’re going straight to XL! 🤩 Brace yourselves for the #XLExperience! #Redmi’s 1st Smart _ _ is coming your way on 17th March at 12 noon.”

Xiaomi already offers smart TVs in India under the Mi brand and this will be the first Redmi series smart TV from the company.
The company already offers Redmi smart TVs in China and is selling the Redmi Smart TV X series only in China. The smart TV series include models with 50-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch screen sizes.
Xiaomi India Smart TV head Eshwar Nilakantan also revealed that the company is planning to launch Redmi series smart TVs in India.
Nilakantan also added that with the Redmi smart TV the company wants to traget much younger audience. He also added that the smart TVs will be ‘Made in India’.
Apart from this, no other details of the smart TV are available right now.
Xiaomi launched its first smart TV in India in 2018 and recently it revealed that the company has managed to sell 4 million units of Mi TVs in India. The company crossed this mark in the time of two years.
