But it seems WhatsApp has found a way to fix this inconvenience by adding a ‘join missed call’ functionality.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has submitted a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 184.108.40.206. With this update, WhatsApp has been discovered to be working on a feature that will allow users to join missed group calls.
“If someone between your contacts invites you to join a group call, and you aren’t able to join in that moment, you will be able to join the next time you open WhatsApp, if the call hasn’t been closed,” said the report.
As per the screenshot provided in the report, the WhatsApp user will get the option to either ‘Join” or ‘Ignore’ the call.
This particular feature has been found to be under development as of now and is expected to be rolled out to users in a future update. Further, even though traces of this feature have been found on the Android beta version of the app, it is expected to be rolled out to iOS as well.
