Telecom operator Vi (Vodafone Idea) has launched a new feature — called Weekend Rollover of data — for its prepaid customers in India.
The company in a press statement announced that the prepaid users of the telecom service provider will be able to use more data during the weekends by carrying forward the unutilised data from the daily quota during the week.
The company said that this will be applicable to all prepaid customers doing unlimited recharges offering daily quota benefits of Rs 249 and above. The offer is effective starting October 19 and will be valid for new customers as well.
Talking about this new feature, Avneesh Khosla, marketing director – Vodafone Idea said, “Weekends are usually reserved for entertainment and fun – be it binge watching your favourite shows or catching up with friends and family over a zoom call. Weekend Rollover of Data enables prepaid customers to now seamlessly carry forward their unused data during the week to weekends without having to worry about their data quota getting wasted. Vi is the only brand to offer this unique benefit to its prepaid customers. This unmatched benefit is available to all our prepaid customers who do an eligible recharge of Rs 249 or above at NO ADDITIONAL cost thereby offering huge value to our consumers.”
Earlier this month, Vi launched a new prepaid plan for its customers in India of Rs 351. This plan offers only data benefits and the service provider says that it is targeted at students, work from home professionals, cricket lovers, and gaming enthusiasts. As part of this plan, Vi subscribers will get 100GB of 4G data with no FUP limit. The plan comes with 56 days validity.
