WD My Passport SSD launched, price starts at Rs 8,999

NEW DELHI: Western Digital has launched a new WD branded My Passport SSD in capacities of up to 2TB. The company has priced the 500GB SSD for Rs 8,999, while the 1TB and 2TB SSD cost Rs 15,999 and Rs 28,999 respectively. However, during the ongoing Amazon sale you can get the 500GB SSD at Rs 6,999 and the 1TB and 2TB SSD at Rs 6,999 and Rs 24,999 respectively.
The company has also announced a warranty of 5 years on the products.
The all new SSD from WD comes with a metal design and claims to offer fast speed with the help of the company’s NVMe technology. The new storage device promises to deliver read speeds of up to 1050MB/s1 and write speeds of up to 1000MB/s1. The drive helps secure content and keep productivity flowing with password enabled 256-bit AES hardware encryption.
The device comes with a metal design which is both shock and vibration resistant and it can also resist drops of up to 6.5ft (1.98m).
The SSD device also includes a software which can make it easier to backup large files on your device or cloud service account. It comes with USB 3.2 Gen-2 technology with USB Type C cable and USB Type A adaptor.
